A Little About Ms. Meyer

Welcome!
If you are here, you must be looking for a little background on me.

To start, I began my post-secondary education by completing general studies in geography and history before transferring to the British Columbia Institute of Technology to pursue a career in technology education. I then transferred to the University of British Columbia to earn a Bachelors of Education. I recently also earned my Masters of Education in media and technology from UBC. I have a background volunteering in many capacities with youth, including coaching volleyball, coordinating adventure therapy, instructing rock climbing and robotics competitions.

Over time, I have accumulated several awards including the Woman in Technology Education Prize (UBC), Dora S. Simpson Memorial Award (UBC), Top Carpentry/Joinery Student Award (Frank Hurt Secondary) and the PAC Inspiration Award (Chimney Hill Elementary).

After being born and raised in the Lower Mainland, I moved to Williams Lake to work with School District No. 27. As their Elementary ADST and Career Education teacher, I created robotics programs, trades project kits, career education resources and much more. After some years in the Cariboo, I transferred back to the Lower Mainland to teach in Burnaby.

Over time I hope to to create welcoming and engaging classroom experiences. This web page is meant to be my resource for students and parents to learn a little about me, find materials and see what is going on in my programs!

Enjoy,
Alana Meyer,
